I love hummus and it’s super easy to make at home. Not only is it yummy , but hummus is also packed with nutrition. It’s high on iron , vitamin C, and Vitamin B6. And Chickpeas are a great source of protein and fiber. I love it as a dip with any kind of veggie, whole wheat pita chips, or blue corn tortilla chips. Also it’s great on a sandwich or wrap for the kids lunches.
When I asked Isabella if she wanted to help me make it , she said ” I don’t like hummus”
Her comment after tasting what she just helped make? “Wow. It’s really good!” Reaffirms my belief that if you get kids involved in the kitchen they will eat it! She still doesn’t really like store-bought hummus , but will always eat it when we make it at home.
1 can organic chick peas ( also known as Garbanzo beans).
2 cloves garlic
Juice of one lemon
1 tablespoon Cumin
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Combine all ingredients, except olive oil, in the bowl of a food processor. Turn food processor on and slowly add the olive oil. Pulse until smooth and creamy. That’s it! Super easy , quick, healthy, AND delicious!
