Anyone else had about enough of this winter?? We are counting the days until our warm weather vacation for Spring Break, but with a couple of days off from school for President’s Day we decided to take advantage and get away for Valentine’s Day for a couple of days-inside! Pretty much everyone I know was going skiing this weekend. And as much as I WANT to WANT to ski, being outside in the negative 2 degrees this weekend was just not appealing to me. My favorite indoor escape is The Grand Cascades Lodge.
We decided to head to Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ. It’s a quick getaway from NYC-it took us about 1 hour, 20 minutes from Brooklyn. We stay at the Grand Cascasdes Lodge and love it! It is a beautiful hotel with an amazing Spa, great restaurants, and an incredible Biosphere Pool (which is pretty much the main reason we go there!), complete with a water slide. Oh, did I mention they serve cocktails at the pool as well?
The Biospehere pool in the Grand Cascades Lodge leads out to an outdoor “hot” pool. 9 degrees out and we were sitting in this hot pool, while it was snowing, with the mountains in the background. It was incredible!
And we made some new friends! Ever notice that no matter where you go, you gravitate to people similar to you? Isabella made friends with Jordan, and we immediately hit it off with her parents. So happy to have met new friends!
Check out the room! We try to get a 1 bedroom suite when we go away so that we can put Isabella to bed and Bill and I can hang out without having to be quiet in a dark hotel room.
It was the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend with the people I love most in the world! Hope your Valentine’s Day was spent with someone you love!
